Erotic Art at the Saatchi Gallery's Charity Auction, London



Next week (8-9 October, 2010) the Saatchi Gallery in London will be hosting a charity auction for The Art of Giving. It will be the largest sale of art for charity ever.


The exhibition features sculpture, installations and paintings by over sixty contemporary artists including Anthony Christian, Gavin Turk, Terry O’Neill, Steve Goddard, Tony Heywood, Alexa Meade, Dominique Besner and Zak Ove.


The highlight of the auction and exhibition will be the iconic "Crucifixion of the Female Principle" by Anthony Christian.





This painting measures a staggering 78" x 48" and is considered to be one of Christian's greatest paintings. At time of writing, it is believed to be the highest valued painting in the exhibition and is currently at £175,000.


As well as the Crucifixion, Christian has allowed a recent collaboration between him and his wife, who is also an accomplished artist, to be exhibited called "Sail Away".







Sail Away will be up at £35,000.


The exhibition will be open from 10am - 6pm on the 8th and 9th of October. Ticket prices are £10 for adults.


There will also be a private viewing on the 7th October. Tickets for the private viewing are £35.


Tickets are available for Art of Giving website and funds raised will be going to thirteen charities that are running life-changing and life-saving projects.
